# Treasury

The Treasury plays a very important role for $POUND. It provides three extremely critical functions for the growth and sustainability of Pounder Protocol. 

The treasury is used to:

* Fund new Pounder Protocol products, services, and projects that will expand and allow us to grow;
* Functions as additional financial support for the insurance fund. This additional support can become important in the event of an extreme price drop of the $POUND token;
* Provide funding for marketing.
